ABOUT RUNNING OF THE GOATS NYC 2021
The second-ever Running of the Goats kicked off with a bleat as a herd of goats was released in Riverside Park on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, in New York City. While fun to watch, the event also served a larger ecological purpose. The goats are put in Riverside Park as part of an effort to curb invasive species, specifically vines, choking out sunlight and other important resources woodland creatures in the area need to survive.
