Immergé
Points de Vue

Living in the age of technology can make us forget that we are still humans living in a complex, rich, yet fragile ecosystem. Instead of upgrading or adding something into our lives, sometimes we just need to take a break and go back to the essence of nature. When was the last time you stopped to enjoy its flow?
This installation was inspired by Bayonne, a city bordered by the river “la Nive” and its natural protected area “Plaine d’Ansot”.
This wouldn’t be possible without all the help of Points de Vue team, volunteers and visitors: Alban / Gildas / Anais / Louise / Stéphane / Noemi / Léa / Eziz / Marie / Iris / Corinne / Félix / Béatrice / Elsa / Maïténa / Amandine / Audrey / Lucie / Cécile / Alice / Odile / Marie-Yannick / Lola / Delphine / Loréa.

ABOUT AHENEAH A.K.A ANA MARTINS

Aheneah is Ana Martins, a Portuguese artist, and graphic designer — an improbable match happened when, during her bachelor, she combined her design knowledge with her grandmothers’ embroidery teachings. Since then, her professional and artistic work turned into an exploration of connections between digital and analog mediums, seeking to deconstruct, decontextualize and transform a traditional technique into a modern graphic, connecting cultures, and generations.

Cross stitch on wall
Every day, for many years, thousands of kids pass by this wall while going
from home to school and from school to home. Most of the time just floating
in their thoughts, lost in space, time and routine.
Until their paths have to change directions. This happened to me a few years ago.
With more than 2300 screws and 700 meters of yarn, this piece is now part of
the city where I was born and grew up in.

Semear (to sow)

It all starts with a seed.
An artistic movement that one century later inspired this installation.
A whole forest or, after a wildfire, its reforestation.
A tradition or simply the needed change.

Two years after a wildfire in this Portugal district is more important than ever to sow.
Ideas, projects and a brightening future.
