An illustration of a General of the Taira clan of the Genpei War. Rather than loose to the hands of the enemy, Tomomori committed suicide by tying himself to an anchor and jumping into the sea. It is said that his ghost haunts the Genpei sea.

A depiction of a child sleeping in a weightless, cloud-like, dream world. The child is guarded by a mythological creature of Japan, the Baku, who devours nightmares. The Baku is protecting the child from a Nue, another creature of Japanese myth who causes nightmares.

An old Japanese folktale where a priest falls in love with a young woman but soon abandons her without explanation. The woman transforms into this serpent of rage while in pursuit of the priest and smells him hiding under a temple bell.
