Our “Model Of The Day” English Model Jodie Marsh
ABOUT JODIE MARSH:
Jodie Marsh first rose to fame in 2002 when she appeared on ITV2’s reality TV show, Essex Wives. Her glamour-puss image and outgoing personality shone through on the show and she quickly began featuring in the UK’s leading magazines and tabloids as a glamour model/TV pin-up. Genius at creating PR stories and outrageous press-worthy outfits for herself (and, thanks to a couple of relationships with male celebrities), Jodie continued to receive a huge amount of media attention long after the show ended – thus building up her profile further. This led to TV casting agents and producers asking her to take part in other celebrity reality TV shows between 2003-2005. These included Channel 5’s Trust Me, I’m A Holiday Rep and Channel 4’s The Games, where she had to train and compete in sporting events against other celebrities.
Now an established celebrity pin-up, in 2005, Jodie penned her autobiography: ‘Jodie Marsh: Keeping It Real’. The public rushed out to buy the book in its thousands and it topped the bestseller chart.
In 2006, Jodie appeared as a celebrity contestant/housemate in Channel 4’s hit TV series, Celebrity Big Brother. Unfortunately, Jodie didn’t enjoy her time in the Big Brother house due to a clash of personality with a few of the other celebrity housemates. However, it didn’t deter her from doing other TV work. In summer 2007, MTV gave Jodie her own reality TV series called ‘Totally Jodie Marsh: Who’ll Take Her Up The Aisle’. The show, which saw Jodie agreed to publicly audition and search for a husband and marry him for the cameras, was a big success for MTV. Jodie chose model Matt Peacock as her husband-to-be and the couple wed in September 2007 (only to be divorced soon after). Media controversy surrounded the relationship, as Matt was the former ex-boyfriend of Jodie’s biggest celebrity, Katie Price aka Jordan.
In 2008, Jodie put on her dancing shoes to take part in Channel 5′s TV show, The All Star Talent Show, where she danced her way to victory in programme 2, beating off several other celebrities. Throughout the rest of 2008-2009, Jodie made guest appearances in several further TV shows – including MTV’s Cribs, Channel 4’s It’s Me or The Dog; DMax’s London Ink, E4’s Big Brother’s Big Mouth and BBC3’s Snog, Marry or Avoid..
In Autumn/fall 2010, Jodie proved to the World that she’s a whizz in the kitchen when she participated in Channel 4’s highly-rated cooking competition show, Celebrity Come Dine With Me. After creating a delicious 3-course meal, Jodie went on to beat the other three celebrity participants, winning the show and raising money for charity. In late 2010, knowing that Jodie had become addicted to tattoos (having adorned herself with over 70 tattoos in the space of a few years!) and held a desire to open her own tattoo shop one day Discovery’s DMAX channel (the network home to cult tattoo TV shows LA Ink and Miami Ink) loved the idea of Jodie doing her own and commissioned the show. Titled ‘Jodie Marsh: Tattooist’s Apprentice’ – the launch show received high viewing figures for the channel and helped Jodie realise that a career as a professional tattooist is definitely something she wants to pursue. So much so, that Jodie has continued with her tattoo apprenticeship (even though filming for the tattoo TV show has stopped) – with a dream of opening her own tattoo shop during 2011.
In 2012, Jodie will take part in a new TV show which is to be announced soon. More details coming soon!
Jodie will also continue with modelling, TV and media work for the foreseeable future.
