ABOUT THE STAR WARS SHOES AND PO-ZU
Our name is central to the way we go about our business. ‘Po-Zu’ stems from the Japanese ポーズ, meaning to pause, and it is our mission to provide your feet with unique respite from the frantic pace of busy lives, and to halt the damage that modern footwear manufacturing often causes to people and planet.
Po-Zu was launched in 2006 from the back room of a little house in Islington, London. The original range consisted of two house slippers, which were made in Glastonbury UK, at one of the last remaining shoe factories in the country!
With help from our friends at Terra Plana, our slippers made their way overseas and were distributed to a few counties, reaching as far as Japan.
We were nominated for a Green Award in recognition of our unique coconut husk shoebox, which doubles as a seed tray!
The first of its kind co-branded collection will be available to pre-order on the Po-Zu website from May the 4th, for delivery in August 2017, and include women’s, men’s and children ranges.
The shoes are handcrafted in Portugal in line with Po-Zu’s ethical and sustainable standards, made without toxic solvents, with natural materials such as cork, coconut fibre, latex, organic cotton, pure wool tweed, and chrome free leathers.
