ABOUT WAKING TERA

Thomas Edison once said, “Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration.” This motto has become the corner stone of the assiduous group of aggressive hard rockers known as Waking Tera, and their hard work is evident by the buzz that has been generated in the North Carolina music scene since they first hit the stage in early 2010.
The prodigious union began when co-founder and guitarist Zach Robinson met singer/songwriter Kalvin Pender, better known to his fans as KP. What seemed as though an unlikely match quickly transformed into musical brilliance. Fueled by a mutual zeal, the band was later joined by secondary guitarist Josh Devereaux who incorporated his raw, metal influence and soulful leads, drummer Chris Howell whose energetic, almost maniacal presence on stage goes unnoticed by no one, and bassist Saucey whose name alone hints at the full force energy he brings onto the stage. The fusion of talent created their edgy, inimitable sound which quickly gained the attention of fans, critics, and seasoned musicians alike.

With the release of their first LP Envision, which quickly sold well over 1200 copies, Waking Tera has gained the reputation as being one of the premier bands in North Carolina. Their “great stage energy and band chemistry” as reported by Magazine 33, has solidified Waking Tera in the music scene and positioned them to play alongside some extraordinary talent such as: Hell Yeah, Trapt, 10 Years, Wayne Static of Static X, Nonpoint, In This Moment, Orgy, Sid Wilson of Slipknot, and Powerman 5000 just to name a few. As the list grows, so does the interest of everyone around them.

“What it comes down to,” remarks KP, “Is we are inherently pre-destined to play music…to play this music. This is what we are passionate about. It’s what we live for. ” Their passion, love for their music, and pure exceptionality is what keeps fans returning night after night, and will ultimately be the determinant of their ineludible success. With nowhere else to go but up, Waking Tera continues to drive this undeniable force of music to places only they can reach.
