Brand We Like: Ilthy

iLTHY® is a creative brand that relies on teamwork, individualism, and unique artwork. We strive hard to showcase our traits in everyday lifestyle as artists through print media, photography, and apparel. Our ideas and concepts are inspired by pop culture, music, sports, our history, and our own ideals. By combining our love of our passions on an all new medium, we can create truly inspiring items for our fans everywhere to enjoy.

Each and every piece online and instore is limited. We believe in treating our apparel just like people regard art. As special paintings and photography are one of one, we keep the exclusivity with our clothing. Most pieces never return upon production and are always in limited runs. We believe in keeping the integrity of our work and to treat our apparel — as an artform.

iLTHY is currently carried in Cleveland, New York, New Jersey, Houston & Miami and has a meteoric rise in the blogosphere and in social media. We are proud to say that all designs are produced, designed, and sewn in-house at the iLTHY® Workshop. Our flagship shop is headquartered in Gordon Square Arts District of Cleveland Ohio.

T-shirt Contest Design By Stephanie Menjivar

For the design of the t-shirt I thought of the basic materials used in art such as the color wheel, pencils, pens, exacto knives and paint brushes. As for the representation of “life” I chose a dark red fist that holds these materials because our fists tend to emulate the size of our hearts and they represent power. By combing both of these elements I hope to express the power of art through a simple approach.

Photography By Morgan Slade

Morgan Slade received his BFA in photography in 2002 from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. He has shot for several magazines including Swindle, Anthem, Juxtapoz, OUT Magazine, Western Interiors & Design and many others. Morgan has exhibited both photography and mixed media work in galleries including solo shows at Copro Gallery and Billy Shire Fine Arts. He has worked in the publishing industry, including heading US production for fine art book publisher TASCHEN.

Slade is a Los Angeles-based artist whose work explores the symbolic shorthand of corporate logos and brand identities that permeate American consumer culture. Slade appropriates these symbols and places them in the context of his paintings as a way to alter their symbolic status, redefine their meaning, and create his own personal vocabulary. His work makes prominent use of the female form as a way to anchor the pieces and confront the symbolism behind the female form, her poses, and attire as interpreted by society. Slade photographs his anonymous subjects in scant attire and masked visages; striking provocative poses that the artist views as strong and empowered versus weak and victimized. He then reworks the photographs with any one of a number of mediums to create an intensely vibrant and engaging work.
