ABOUT THE AEGEAN SISTERS WORK
“The original painting ‘Aegean Sisters’ was a commission I completed this year for a client who in general wanted something involving twin mermaids. It was a fun challenge for me simply because I never paint multiple figures together, and I appreciated the freedom given to me by the collector to kind of do my thing without too much direction. Overall I think it came out really nicely. I enjoyed the de-saturated, marblesque tones of the skin alongside the more vibrant, yet melancholy colours of the rest.” – Sarah Joncas
